Kingsbridge Heights: No Injuries after Residential Fire on West 197th Street

There were no injuries reported following a residential fire in the Kingsbridge Heights section of The Bronx on Tuesday, April 28, according to the FDNY.

 

A fire department spokesperson said the FDNY received a call at 11.21 a.m. for a report of smoke on the first floor of a building located at 165 West 197th Street, between Webb Avenue and Sedgwick Avenue.

 

The spokesperson said the fire was on the scaffolding and was extinguished by the first FDNY units to arrive at the scene at around 12.13 p.m., with no injuries reported. They said the cause is under investigation.

 

As reported, two people died and several others were injured following a 5-alarm fire at 660 East 187th Street in the Belmont section of The Bronx the previous day, Tuesday, April 21.
