Fordham Manor: Man Sought for Assault of MTA Bus Driver

THE NYPD IS asking for the public’s help identifying this person who they say is wanted in connection with an assault that occurred on Thursday, March 19, 2026 aboard the southbound Bx3 bus at University Avenue and West Fordham Road in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached video who is wanted in connection with an assault of an MTA employee that occurred in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx.

 

Police said that on Thursday, March 19, at around 1.10 p.m., a 42-year-old male MTA bus driver was aboard a southbound BX3 bus at University Avenue and West Fordham Road when an assailant got into a verbal dispute with him. They said the suspect became irate and punched the driver in the face causing pain and a laceration to his lip. They said he then exited the bus and fled the location on foot to parts unknown.

 

Police went on to say that EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition. They said the suspect is described as male, and was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, a white t-shirt, a multicolored hat, dark-colored pants, and white sneakers.
