Mosholu / Riverdale: Man Lying on Road Dragged under Car to Yonkers from The Bronx

A man was dragged around 0.4 miles under a car from the Riverdale / Mosholu section of The Bronx to Yonkers late on Thursday night, Jan. 29, police said. He remains in critical condition in hospital in the Morris Park section of The Bronx.

 

The NYPD said that on Thursday, January 29, at around 10.07 p.m., police received a 911 call reporting a pedestrian struck at the intersection of West 262nd Street and Broadway, within the confines of the 50th Precinct.

They said officers arrived on scene and were redirected to 90 Caryle Avenue within the confines of Yonkers and there, located an unidentified male unconscious and unresponsive with injuries throughout his body.

 

“The male victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in critical condition.,” a police spokesperson said.

“Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined the male was laying [on] the roadway on Broadway before being struck by a red Honda CRV.”

Police said the car was being driven by a 31-year-old man and the vehicle continued into Yonkers where the driver then parked and found the man underneath his vehicle.

They said the driver remained on scene, there are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.

 

As reported, a person was recently found deceased at the 242nd Street Subway Station in nearby Fieldston amid freezing temperatures, a a few days prior, two people were shot at the same location.
