Fieldston: Man Hospitalized after Being Stabbed in the Stomach inside 242nd Street Subway Station

A 34-year-old man is being treated for stab injuries to the stomach following an altercation and assault inside a subway station in the Fieldston section of The Bronx, not far from Manhattan College, police said.

 

An NYPD spokesperson said that at 5.07 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, the slashing took place on the mezzanine level inside the West 242nd Street / Van Cortlandt Park subway station serving the 1 train.

 

“We have a 34-year-old male victim who was slashed in the stomach,” a police spokesperson said. “He’s in stable condition. He was engaged in a dispute with an unknown perpetrator.” The spokesperson said the victim taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition, the investigation is ongoing, and there is no arrest at this time.

Asked if the man had been stabbed with a knife or some other type of implement, the spokesperson said it was unknown at this time as no weapon was recovered.
