A 57-year-old man has been hospitalized after he was slashed aboard the 4 train in Kingsbridge Heights on Wednesday, July 3, police said. The NYPD is now asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached video and photo who they say is wanted in connection with the assault.
An NYPD spokesperson said the incident unfolded as a northbound 4 train was entering the Kingsbridge Road subway station at around 9.36 p.m.
“We have 57-year-old male who was engaged in a verbal dispute with the unknown perpetrator while on board the northbound number 4 train,” the spokesperson said, adding that the perpetrator then struck the victim with an unidentified object, slashing him on the left forearm. “The victim sustained a small laceration on the forearm. He was taken St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition by EMS,” he added.

Police said the perpetrator fled the station on foot in an unknown direction. They said he is described as a male in his thirties with a medium complexion. They said he was last seen wearing a green basketball jersey, black shorts and a black hat.
In a video posted to the Citizens’ App later on Wednesday night, police are seen pulling up outside Bedford Park Boulevard subway station serving the 4 train, possibly in hopes of apprehending the suspect. However, police said he has not been apprehended.
