52nd Precinct Takes Down 14 Suspects Linked to the Bloods

The 52nd Precinct has tackled a major gang operating in Creston Avenue and 198th Street in Bedford Park, officials charge.

Thirteen gang members linked to the reputed Bloods were rounded up yesterday in an early morning raid, facing a Bronx judge the same day. The members, a subset called the “Blood Hounds” with some as young as 17 years old, face a litany of charges including conspiracy, attempted gang assault, attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon. They were also known to peddle drugs, according to the indictment.

The arrests cap a year long investigation by the 52nd Precinct. The names of those charged include:

Another man, unaffiliated with the Bloods but not an official member, was also charged in connection with the takedown.

Robert Johnson. “Thanks to the efforts of the NYPD, its Gang Intelligence Unit, and particularly in this case, Det. Patrick Nichols and Sgt. Michael Melendez of the NYPD Gang Unit and members of the 52nd Precinct, and our Gangs/Major Case Bureau, we have made a significant dent in the problem that plagues our residents.
