A 73-year-old man has been arrested after a 77-year-old woman died following an assault in Pelham Parkway, police said.
As reported, an NYPD spokesperson said that on Monday, July 7, at around 7.28 a.m., officers from the 49th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an assault that took place in the vicinity of Barnes Avenue and Brady Avenue.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious and unresponsive 77-year-old female with trauma to her head,” the spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the female to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where she was pronounced deceased.”
The deceased was later identified as Marsha Greenberg of Barnes Avenue, The Bronx.
On July 7, police said that pursuant to an ongoing investigation, Jeffrey Kolin, 73, of the same Barnes Avenue address as the victim, was arrested that day at 4.45 p.m. in The Bronx.
They said he was charged with murder, manslaughter, two counts of strangulation, and criminal possession of a weapon. He is presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
