Fourteen Alleged “1300” Gang Members/Associates Charged with Multiple Bronx Shootings, Carjackings

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark and New York City Police Commissioner Edward A. Caban announced on Friday, Aug. 2, that 15 people, including 14 alleged members and associates of the “1300” gang, were charged under two separate indictments for allegedly conspiring to commit various violent crimes committed across The Bronx, including attempted murder (shooting), conspiracy and gang assault. One of the victims was a teenage girl and another an older adult. One of the associates is also charged separately for shooting four people and the group were also involved in a spate of carjackings and and a gang assault on an off-duty police officer.

The NYPD said on Friday night, Aug. 26, they have arrested one young male in connection with an assault on an off-duty police officer that left him with a fractured skull and brain bleeding in the Unionport section of The Bronx earlier this week.   Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, they said Oshawn Logan, 18, of East 169th Street from the Concourse section of The Bronx, was arrested in connection to an assault on Police Officer Mohammed Chowdhury on Olmstead Avenue in Unionport on Tuesday morning, Aug. 23, [Election Day], while he was out jogging.
