Two Bronx Men Sentenced for 2014 Harlem Murder

Federal prosecutors announced on May 29 that two Bronx men were sentenced for the 2014 murder of a Harlem man. Damian Williams, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said that Carlos Laureano, 35, was sentenced on May 23, to 30 years in prison for the murder of Luis Perez on August 12, 2014, and Nnandi Ben-Jochannan, 30, was sentenced on May 29 to 10 years for his role in the murder.

Morris Park: Elderly Man Critical Following Bus Collision at Same Site as Horrific 2015 Crash

  An elderly man is reported to be fighting for his life after being struck by an MTA express bus in the Morris Park section of the Bronx on a dark, rainy evening amid poor visibility.   Police and fire officials confirmed that a 78-year-old male victim was crossing Morris Park Avenue at the Radcliff Avenue junction at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29 when he was struck by a moving bus. The elderly man was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he is listed as being in critical condition. Officers from the 49th precinct shut down Morris Park Avenue
