Residents Shocked at Chase Bank Closure in Norwood
Norwood residents suffered an unexpected shock when a popular Chase Bank branch quietly shut it’s doors on Oct. 22. The branch at 311 E. 204th St. would have celebrated it’s fourteenth year of business in the neighborhood next month. Many residents were furious that no notices were ever posted on the walls or windows of the bank. One longtime customer claimed they did tell customers that they were closing at the end of October. Attempted Robbery Foiled at Jerome Avenue Chase Bank
A Brooklyn man is facing attempted bank robbery charges after cops grabbed him before he could catch a 4 subway train. Police say officers from the 52nd Precinct were alerted to the attempted robbery at 3408 Jerome Ave., a Chase Bank, at just before 5 p.m. on May 24. NYPD spokesman, Sgt. Brendan Ryan stated, “[A]n individual walked into the bank and attempted to rob it, passing a note to the teller. Chase Bank Thief in the Bronx Still at Large
POLICE ARE SEARCHING for this masked thief wanted for the brazen bank robbery at the Chase Bank at 3408 Jerome Ave. on May 7 just after 9 a.m. Police say the thief, wearing a mask, waited 10 minutes inside the bank before approaching a teller, brandishing a black gun from his waistband and demanding cash. After getting the money, the thief fled. Police describe the suspect as approximately 30 years old, medium complexion and weighing 180 pounds.
