Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz Launches Reelection Campaign

Kicking off his reelection campaign in Riverdale on Sunday, Feb. 8, to retain the northwest Bronx seat he has held for four decades, Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81) was joined by family, friends, members of the Benjamin Franklin Reform Democratic Club, and Bronx elected officials, including Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, Congressman Ritchie Torres (NY-15) and Council Member Eric Dinowitz (C.D. 11), who each took turns to endorse him.

The Late Sandra Pabon Honored on Home Turf

On a glorious summer’s day, in an atmosphere infused with joy and laughter, family, friends, elected officials, and numerous colleagues of the late Sandra Pabon, a former NYPD chaplain and Democratic state committeewoman for A.D. 80, gathered together on her birthday, Saturday, July 19, for a street co-naming ceremony in her memory at the corner of East 204th Street and Hull Avenue in Norwood, close to her former home. As reported, Pabon died on June 2, 2023.

Op-Ed: Wanted: The Grinches Who Stole Pride

As someone who has spent many an hour, day, and literally years advocating for the Norwood / Bronx LGBTQIA+ community to finally be represented locally, witnessing a group of people film themselves commit a hate crime by destroying the rainbow balloons and decor which decorated a nationally registered historic place, the Williamsbridge Oval during the inaugural Norwood Pride festival this past June 23 was heartbreaking.

Op-Ed: Response to Ben Franklin Club VP Club Saying: “We Put Joe Biden on the Ballot”

When you’re the local political boss (so reminds me of Tammany Hall), and have called the shots for as long as [Assemblyman] Jeff Dinowitz [A.D. 81] has, you may forget that it is “We the people.” I read with great concern the claims by Ira Bigeleisen in last week’s Riverdale Press that “Team Dinowitz” got President Joe Biden on the ballot this year.

Op-Ed: Ruth Mullen Riverdale Huddle Denounce Ben Franklin Democratic Club’s Negative Mailer re A.D. 81

We, of the Ruth Mullen Riverdale Huddle, were deeply offended by the Democratic Team – 81st A.D. mailer, as community members, voters, and activists who care about truth and decency in political discourse in our community. The mailer violated both principles and revealed the brand of leadership that (Assemblyman) Jeff Dinowitz (A.D. 81) and his slate have and will provide.

Op-Ed: Northwest Bronx Indivisible Committee Offended by Ben Franklin Democratic Club’s Mailer re A.D. 81

We the undersigned members of the steering committee of Northwest Bronx Indivisible are deeply offended by the Ben Franklin Democratic Club’s 81st A.D. mailer. As community members, voters, and activists, we care about truth and decency in political discourse. The mailer violates both principles through its inflammatory accusations that the Unity (Democratic) Club candidates use antisemitic tropes and disregard public safety. We condemn the mailer. We believe it distorts truth.
