CCRB Public Hearing Jan. 13 on Expanding Agency’s Remit to Investigate Alleged NYPD Sexual Misconduct

The New York City Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB) will hold a public comment hearing on Wednesday, Jan. 13, on its new rules which were proposed last year and which if put in place would restart investigations by the agency into allegations of sexual misconduct by NYPD officers. The new rules would also allow the CCRB to investigate allegations of false official statements made by NYPD officers against civilians in official proceedings, or on official police paperwork.   The proposed new rules can be found here. Bronx Public Figures React to Domestic Violence Allegations Involving State Sen. Luis Sepúlveda

On Tuesday, Jan. 12, the New York Times reported that State Senator Luis R. No Trash, Recycling Collection, Street Cleaning on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 18

The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that, in observance of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, there will be no trash or recycling collection, nor street cleaning on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021.   Residents who normally receive Monday trash collection may place their material at the curb between 4 p.m. and midnight Monday evening. Update: Police Release More Photos/Video of Suspect Wanted for Questioning in Norwood Burglary Pattern

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the man seen in the attached photos who is wanted for questioning in connection with a burglary pattern in the 52nd precinct.   It was reported to police that between Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020 and Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, in the vicinity of East Gun Hill Road and Decatur Avenue in Norwood, the man unlawfully entered five residential apartment buildings by forcing open the lobby doors with a screwdriver. Once inside the buildings, he used a screwdriver to force open various mailboxes, and removed multiple contents before fleeing the locations.
