On Saturday, Feb. 5, the New York City Emergency Management Department (EMD) issued a hazardous travel advisory for Sunday, Feb. 7. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for New York City which will be in effect from 6 a.m. Sunday through 9 p.m. According to the latest forecast, a winter storm is expected to bring steady light to moderate snow to the area beginning early Sunday morning through the afternoon, before tapering off in the evening. Bronx Community Board 7 (CB7) confirmed on Thursday, Feb. 4 that the Yankee Stadium COVID-19 vaccination site will open Feb. 5. At least one resident of a Dekalb Avenue building in Norwood had a close call after he said his kitchen exploded for no apparent reason, prompting a substantial response from police, firefighters and paramedics. According to the FDNY, the incident was reported at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23.
