That’s the word Ruben Diaz, Jr. uses to describe his ambitious plans for the Bronx if elected borough president.

The 36-year-old Diaz, a Democratic state assemblyman from Soundview for the past 12 years, says people often use the word negatively, but that won’t stop Diaz from trying.

The MTA voted last Wednesday to impose massive service cuts and huge fare hikes on transit riders throughout the Bronx and the rest of the New York City metro area. But state legislators, who failed to come up with a rescue plan by the MTA’s self-imposed timeline, say there is still time to stave off the drastic changes.

The Department of Education has identified 3177 Webster Ave., in Norwood, as the site for a new school. For the past week, Council Member Oliver Koppell has touted the new school as a victory for him and local activists and a means to alleviate overcrowding in the area.

A man identified only as a 35-year-old Hispanic male was stabbed to death on Sunday night inside a Marion Avenue building just north of Fordham Road, the same building where a woman was burned, dismembered and left dead on the roof in January.

Now the Bronx lifer – whose other credits include Large Imposing Man on an episode of “Sex and the City” and Fast Eddie in the movie “Be Cool” – is trying to reinvent himself for another role: candidate for borough president.

Space on Community Board 7 is tight, and getting tighter. With 34 members currently on a board roster with a 50-member limit, some of this year’s 30-plus applicants will undoubtedly be left to try again next year.

An article published March 19 about the Comfort Hotel being built on Webster Avenue mentioned negotiations between the hotel’s developer, McSam Hotel Group, and their neighbors, Harold and Virginia Hekimian. While the Hekimians have spoken to the site’s contractor, there has been no direct discussion between the Hekimians and McSam since last winter. The Hekimians say McSam has not responded to repeated requests for information, while McSam says they have received only one phone call, which they asked their contractor to address.
