Be Healthy: Skin Cancer Does Not Discriminate, Exposure Can Damage Anyone

Fair skinned people are known to be at higher risk for skin cancer and other problems associated with too much exposure to the sun, but they are not alone. People of color also are vulnerable to the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) rays emitted by the sun and indoor tanning beds. During National Melanoma/Skin Cancer Awareness Month and throughout the summer, people of all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to learn about their skin cancer risk and the benefits of sun safety.

Bronx Arts Ensemble Spring Concert

PS 1X The Courtlandt School presents the Bronx Arts Ensemble “Ode to Joy” Spring Concert featuring the PS 1X Honors Choir, Michael Davidman on piano, narration by W.T. McRae and the Bronx Arts Ensemble Orchestra conducted by principal Jorge Perdomo. There will be two concerts at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5 at PS 1X The Courtlandt School, 335 E. 152nd Street. The 2 p.m. concert will include a performance of “Peter and the Wolf” and the 4 p.m. concert will include “Babar the Little Elephant.”
