Off-Duty Queens Police Officer Arrested within Confines of 52nd Precinct

An off-duty, male, Queens police officer was arrested within the confines of the 52nd Precinct in The Bronx, police said.

 

An NYPD spokesperson said that on Friday, July 18, at 3.30 p.m., Officer Elisamuel Samboy, 30, while off-duty, was arrested and charged within the confines of the 52nd Precinct, which covers the neighborhoods of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham, Kingsbridge, Bronx Park, and University Heights.

 

Samboy was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing. Norwood News contacted the NYPD to request further details on the circumstances surrounding the arrest. No further information was made available. We will share any further information we receive.

 

Samboy, who became a police officer in December 2020, has been assigned to the Queens Court Section of the NYPD since September 2023, according to NYPD records. He is presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
