They said she earned her master of science degree from Long Island University.
Beginning her nursing career in 2002, at Catholic Health of Long Island, they said Thomas has held progressive nursing leadership positions throughout her career. They said she is passionate about team engagement, professional development, innovation, and collaboration to provide high-quality care for patients and the community.
“I am honored to join the leadership team at North Central Bronx,” said Thomas. “I look forward to working alongside our talented nurses and healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and continue our tradition of excellence.”
For his part, Mastromano expressed his confidence in Thomas’s leadership, saying, “Dr. Sheba Thomas’s expertise and dedication make her an excellent addition to our team. Her vision for nursing excellence will undoubtedly strengthen our services and positively impact patient outcomes.”
Meanwhile, Alfredo Jones, deputy chief operating officer at the North Central Bronx campus, emphasized the impact of Thomas’s appointment on operations and patient care. “Dr. Thomas’s leadership style and deep clinical expertise align perfectly with our mission to provide high-quality, compassionate care,” Jones said. “Her focus on collaboration and operational excellence will strengthen our nursing operations and enhance the experience of both patients and staff.”
NYC Health + Hospitals officials said Thomas’s appointment “further strengthens the hospital’s leadership team and supports ongoing efforts to elevate the quality, accessibility, and equity of care for the Bronx community.”
