The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted in the attached media, wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred in Norwood.
Police said that on Sunday, July 13, at around 2.45 a.m., a 32-year-old male victim was driving his vehicle at the intersection of Jerome Avenue and East 213th Street when he was overtaken by an unidentified person driving another vehicle, which blocked his path.

“The victim opened his car door to assess the situation when multiple unidentified individuals exited their vehicles from different directions and surrounded him,” a police spokesperson said.
“One of the individuals displayed a knife, while another forcibly removed a chain from the victim’s neck,” the spokesperson added. “The unidentified individuals then returned to their vehicles and fled the location, traveling northbound on Jerome Avenue.”
Police said the estimated value of the stolen chain is approximately $1,700 and that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. They said the suspect is described as male, has a dark complexion, and was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and a green hat.
