A man has died following an apparent stabbing in the Norwood section of The Bronx, police said.

An NYPD spokesperson said that on Sunday, Sept. 27, at around 7.13 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an aided man inside 315 East 206th Street, apartment 2D, within the confines of the 52nd Precinct.

Police said that upon arrival, officers conferred with FDNY personnel who discovered the unconscious and unresponsive, unidentified man lying face down in the apartment with multiple slash wounds to his head and back. They said EMS pronounced the man deceased at the scene, and that an additional, unidentified man was taken into custody at the scene on pending charges.

On Sept. 28, the NYPD said Juan Alonso, 50, of 315 E. 206th Street had been arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon in relation to the incident.

According to The Office of the Bronx District Attorney, Alonso was convicted in December 2025 of second-degree murder. He is scheduled to be sentenced this month.
