Mt. Hope: Person Sought for Snatching Cellphones inside Subway Stations

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photos who they say is wanted in connection with a pattern of snatching cell phones (grand larceny) in the Mt. Hope section of The Bronx. 

 

Police said Incident 1 took place on Sunday, Jan. 11, at around 4.55 p.m. inside the Burnside Avenue subway station. They said a 41-year-old female victim was standing on the southbound ‘4’ train platform when an unidentified person snatched the victim’s cell phone from her hand, and then fled the location on foot to parts unknown. They said there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

Police said the second incident took place on Monday, Jan. 12, at around 6.55 p.m. inside Tremont Avenue subway station. They said a 41-year-old female victim was standing at the bottom of the staircase of the ‘B/D’ line when an unidentified person snatched the victim’s cell phone from her hand. They said the suspect then fled the location on foot to parts unknown, and there were no injuries reported.

 

Police said the attached images showing the suspect were obtained from the vicinity of the Burnside Avenue subway station incident.
