Three men have been arrested and charged in a brazen jewelry store robbery in Fordham Manor where the assailants entered the shop with at least one handgun shown.
According to an NYPD spokesperson, three men entered George’s Jewelry at 334 East Fordham Road at Elm Place at 12:14 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4.

The spokesperson told Norwood News, “It was reported to police that three unknown males entered the location and removed jewelry while in possession of a firearm.”
The spokesperson said detectives quickly identified and apprehended Junior Capellan Mata, 22, of Sherman Avenue; Michael Mendez Perez, 22, of Shakespeare Avenue and Alexander De Jesus Nunez, 23, also of Shakespeare Avenue.

All three men have been charged with attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, police said. They are presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
