A man and a woman have been hospitalized following an early morning shooting in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx, police said.
An NYPD spokesperson told Norwood News that on Thursday, Nov. 6, 9 minutes after midnight, at 2561 Briggs Avenue, a 27-year-old woman was shot twice in the lower back, and was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in Belmont in stable condition.

The spokesperson said a 45-year-old man was also shot in the right hand. They said he was taken to Montefiore Medical Center in Norwood in stable condition by private means.
The FDNY later said they received a call at 00.10 a.m. on Nov. 6 for a report of a person who had been shot at Briggs Avenue and East Kingsbridge Road and that one person was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, and that their condition and description was unknown.

Police said they’re looking for four male suspects, three who they said are armed with guns, and who they said fled on foot northbound along Kingsbridge Road.
They said the first person was described as wearing a grey hoodie and black pants, the second was described as wearing a black hoodie and grey pants and the third suspect was described as wearing all black.

The shooting took place outside a barber shop, which was cordoned off along with another section of the block where a type of street social gathering appeared to have taken place on Briggs.

Knocked over chairs, beer cans, deck chairs, bottles, a small hob for a barbecue, a make-shift table made out of overturned crates were seen in a now-deserted area adjacent to the crime scene shooting which police were also guarding.

An officer from the 52nd Precinct told Norwood News detectives had already been to the scene [to carry out a ballistics investigation] and had already left.
They added that the detectives / crime scene unit were due to come back however to collect one further unspecified piece of evidence.

While Norwood News was at the scene, there were no witnesses or other people available to question about what had led to the shooting.
One man who appeared a bit intoxicated or who possibly had some mild mental health issues requested we take his picture and mentioned something incoherent about 8 p.m.

Delivery workers were seen outside their trucks making various deliveries on nearby East Fordham Road and Kingsbridge Road, and sanitation workers were seen collecting trash on Briggs Avenue and the surrounding area around two hours after the shooting took place. More to follow.
