The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating the person seen in the attached photos who they said is wanted in connection with an assault that occurred in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx.
Police said that on Thursday, March 5, at around 5.18 p.m., two uniformed police officers were on the mezzanine of the “B/D” Fordham Road subway station, when they observed a person wanted for questioning regarding a previous assault.
Police said that as the officers approached the person, he struck one of them in the head with an unknown object and caused a laceration to the head. They said the suspect then exited the subway station and fled on foot to parts unknown. They said the police officer was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in a police department vehicle where he was listed in stable condition.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, detectives submitted photos of the sought individual who they identified as 41-year-old Sergio Santiago. Police said he was last seen wearing a black jacket, a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black and white sneakers.
