A 39-year-old man has died following a fatal shooting in the Eastchester section of The Bronx, police said.
NYPD officials said that on Wednesday, April 30, at around 3.46 p.m. police responded to a 911 call regarding an assault in progress at 3370 Baychester Avenue. “Upon arrival, officers observed a 39-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his chest,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.”
Police said there are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
