FDNY: Residential Fire in Norwood at Reservoir Oval “Under Control”

This is a developing story.  Norwood News received unofficial, initial reports of a fire in a multiple dwelling at 3395 Reservoir Oval West in the Norwood section of the Bronx on Tuesday. Bronx Businesses Received Just 7 Percent of NYC’s PPP Loans, But Can Still Apply for More

A report by the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce shows that The Bronx received just 7 percent of all federal Payment Protection Program (PPP) loans allocated to New York City. This was the second lowest percent of all five boroughs, after Staten Island. Mosholu Montefiore Community Center Seeks Volunteers during National Volunteer Week

This week marks National Volunteer Week and opportunities to support Bronxites abound at the Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC).   MMCC is currently seeking volunteers to help distribute food at the center’s community food pantry. The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Rajwantie Saran, 69, of Beth Israel Nursing Home, located at 612 Allerton Avenue in the Allerton section of The Bronx, in the 49th precinct.   It was reported to the police that Saran was last seen Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 5 p.m., leaving her home. Bronx Elected Officials React to Verdict in George Floyd Murder Trial

Following the announcement at around 5.05 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, that Derek Chauvin had been found guilty on all counts in the murder trial of George Floyd, as reported by The Hill and other media outlets, various Bronx elected officials took to social media to voice their thoughts and reaction to the verdict.   State Sen.
