Female Skydivers Mark Centenary of Women’s Suffrage

At first glance, the relationship between skydiving, a woman’s right to vote, and Woodlawn Cemetery might not seem obvious. On Aug. 26 though, four members of the Highlight Pro Skydiving Team parachuted from helicopters 4,500 feet in the sky onto the grounds of the cemetery and placed a yellow rose at the gravesite of suffragist, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and other pioneering women.   Other celebrations took place across the country on the same day to commemorate the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution which secured the right to vote for women. State Museum Commemorates 9/11 with Virtual Tour and Window Display

Motorcyclist Dies in Henry Hudson Parkway Collision

On Sunday morning, Sept. 6, 2020 at approximately 00:27 a.m., police were alerted to a vehicle accident involving a motorcyclist at Exit 21 on the southbound Henry Hudson Parkway at West 249th Street.   Upon arrival, officers observed a 55-year-old, unconscious man on the roadway with severe head trauma. MTA Announces Service Details for Labor Day

Most Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) services will operate on Sunday schedules for the Labor Day holiday, Monday, Sept. 7, with subway and bus options for customers traveling to NYC-area beaches. Metro-North Railroad will operate on a regular weekday schedule.   Front door-boarding and fare collection has resumed on MTA buses. Customers are reminded to wear masks and social distance when possible while using the system. Motorcycle Driver Critical after being Struck by Con Edison Truck in Westchester Square

A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after colliding with a Consolidated Edison truck in Westchester Square. According to NYPD Sergeant and police spokeswoman, Jessica McRorie, the accident was reported at 2 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Silver Street and East Tremont Avenue in the Westchester Square section of the Bronx.
