A man was killed following a police stop by officers from the 52nd Precinct in a daytime shooting that stunned residents in the relatively quiet neighborhood, who haven’t seen an incident like this unfold in years. NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan briefed reporters on the shooting that happened at Bainbridge Avenue and East 211th Street, a relatively quiet section of the neighborhood that passes a busy nexus of traffic in Norwood. A suspect has been shot by police in a daytime incident in Norwood. The shooting was reported at Bainbridge Avenue and East 211th Street, a busy intersection in Norwood at around 3 p.m., according to police. One person was shot by police, though it’s unclear what were the circumstances that led to the shooting. Officers from the local 52nd Precinct, which responded to the shooting, did not respond to calls for comments. Sources told WABC that officers had attempted to serve a warrant to the suspect. Push-In Robbery Two armed men are wanted for forcing their way into an apartment in Bedford Park, tying up the victims, and burning one of them with an iron. Police said this happened at 1 p.m. inside 400 E. Mosholu Pkwy. S. on Oct. 13.
