The family of a young woman killed by a speeding police car is asking the public’s help in raising $15,000 to send her body back to her native Guatemala for burial. Police were called at around 6.25 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, to the scene of a collision involving a motorcycle on Jerome Avenue and Mosholu Parkway South. New York City kids aged ten to seventeen years of age are invited to join in some outdoor sports as part of a new “Street Games” program organized by the Police Athletic League (PAL), which will be visiting each borough throughout the fall. On Thursday, Nov. 5, at around 9.45 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot in the area opposite 1365 Cromwell Avenue in the Mount Eden section of the Bronx, in the 44th precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 20-year-old man, sitting in the front driver side seat of a black Acura, unconscious and unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.
