Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center Hosts the 5th Annual Open House Street Festival on Sept. 17

Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center, a hub for arts education and instruction in the Northeast Bronx, will host a day of celebration, open and free to all with performances, music, and family fun on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Open House Street Festival, now in its fifth year, will usher in the new 2022-2023 season at the center, and the event will include indoor and outdoor activities onsite at Mind-Builders, located at 3415 Olinville Avenue in Olinville. The NYPD said a 55-year-old man has been arrested following an assault outside a restaurant in Fordham Heights. Police said on Friday, Aug. 12, at around 10.45 p.m., cops responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been assaulted in front of the “Fuego Tipico Restaurant” located at 163 East 188th Street. A 25-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the chest in Fordham Manor. A 59-year-old woman has died following a freak incident during which a tree apparently fell into an occupied swimming pool in Spuyten Duyvil. The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached surveillance photos who is wanted for questioning in connection to an assault that occurred in Van Cortlandt Park. Dancers aged 10 to 18 are being called upon to join the Juilliard Dance Experience, a full-day, in-person workshop which will give intermediate and advanced dancers the opportunity to experience Juilliard’s dance program, and take technique classes with current faculty and students.
