In an effort to reduce gun violence, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. wants to publicize the names and addresses of those convicted of gun-related felonies and will introduce legislation on the city and state levels calling for the creation of an online gun offender registry.

World Change Starts With Kiss at PS/MS 95

Members of PS/MS 95’s One Word Club, which seeks to effect positive change in the world one project at a time, raised $200 selling Hershey’s Kisses on Valentine’s Day. The group gave the money to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to terminally ill youngsters.

5 Notes From Clinton High School’s Last Stand

So much to cover after last night’s Panel for Education Policy’s meeting where proposals to phase out or close 22 city schools and add co-located schools to many others, including DeWitt Clinton High School. Panel Votes to Shrink DeWitt Clinton, the Bronx’s Largest Public High School

In a move surprising to no one, but saddening to an entire school community rich in history and pride, the Department of Education’s Panel for Educational Policy voted early Tuesday morning to downsize DeWitt Clinton High School and open up two brand small schools inside the building known as the Castle on Mosholu Parkway.
