Bronx Notes: Text for Health Tips

Montefiore Medical Center has created a new text messaging program called “Bronx4Bronx” in an effort to help Bronx residents take better care of themselves. Bronx4Bronx delivers health tips and information via text message three times a week to its users. The program is available in English and Spanish, and users can opt in or out at any time. Schools Chancellor Coming to Walton for Town Hall Forum

The Community Education Council District 10 is hosting a Town Hall-style forum with Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott on Wednesday, March 19, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Walton H.S. Educational Campus Auditorium, 2780 Reservoir Ave. Walcott will be discussing student achievement, school finances and the city’s educational goals and priorities. He will also be taking questions from the public.

Bronx Notes: Free Weekly Immigration Services

Councilmember Fernando Cabrera along with CUNY Citizenship Now! will provide free confidential legal services to qualified immigrants to help them in their pursuit of U.S. citizenship, Wednesdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cabrera’s district office, 107 E. Bronx Notes: Stop Smoking Program

North Central Bronx Hospital, 3424 Kossuth Ave., offers free group counseling and nicotine replacement therapy for smokers looking to quit.
