After serving two terms, Paul Foster, the chairman of Community Board 7, which includes the neighborhoods of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham-Bedford, University Heights and Kingsbridge Heights, announced last week at the monthly general board meeting that he will not be running for re-election again.

Bronx Arts Ensemble Spring Concert

PS 1X The Courtlandt School presents the Bronx Arts Ensemble “Ode to Joy” Spring Concert featuring the PS 1X Honors Choir, Michael Davidman on piano, narration by W.T. McRae and the Bronx Arts Ensemble Orchestra conducted by principal Jorge Perdomo. There will be two concerts at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5 at PS 1X The Courtlandt School, 335 E. 152nd Street. The 2 p.m. concert will include a performance of “Peter and the Wolf” and the 4 p.m. concert will include “Babar the Little Elephant.”

Multi-Talented Bronx Artist Ibrahim Gonzalez Passes Away

Ibrahim Gonzalez, a longtime Norwood resident and musician who hosted two radio shows WBAI and dabbled in a multitude of art forms over the years, died in his sleep sometime this morning. He was 57 years old.
