An unidentified teen was stabbed to death in Fordham, marking the first homicide for the 52nd Precinct. Details are sparse, but police say the killing was reported at around 7 p.m. on Feb. 13 as officers responded to an assault of a 17-year-old boy near East 193rd Street and Decatur Avenue, a known gang area in the Five-Two. Officers found the victim with stab woulds to the body. EMS rushed the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Suspect Wanted for Exposing Himself to Child in Norwood

The NYPD needs help identifying a man wanted for exposing his genitals to a little boy in Norwood. According to police at the 52nd Precinct, the man approached the boy inside a residential building near East Gun Hill Road and DeKalb Avenue on Jan. 23 at around 5:25 p.m. The man then took the 11-year-old to another floor and exposed his genitals to him. Video surveillance caught the suspect inside an elevator. The suspect is described as Hispanic, standing around 5′ 5″ or 5’7″ and wearing glasses. Mayor's Coming to the Bronx, and He's Bringing City Hall With Him

Next week the annual City Hall in Your Borough: Resource Fair will be coming to the Bronx, and several high level officials from all New York City agencies will be attending. This will allow residents to speak with these city officials, and voice concerns. A Victim is Attacked in Fordham, All for $5

The NYPD needs help tracking a man accused of slapping a woman before robbing of her just $5 in Fordham. The incident happened on Jan. 13 just before 6 a.m. in front of 3 W. Fordham Rd. by the 4 subway train. Police in the 52nd Precinct say the suspect approached the 21-year-old victim, with some words exchanged. The suspect then slapped her, according to police, taking the money before taking off. The victim did not seek medical attention. The suspect was captured on video. The man allegedly involved in a wild shootout with plainclothes cops from the 52nd Precinct faces a 31-count indictment. The shooting left two people hurt by several stray shots that came from one of the officer’s gun. The Bronx District Attorney’s Office has charged Edwin Castillo-Concepcion of Longwood with first- and second-degree attempted murder, and other related charges in the shootout at University Heights on Dec. 5. When Deputy Inspector Thomas Alps took over as commander of Norwood’s 52nd Precinct this past November, he had his work cut out for him. Overall crime in the precinct covering Norwood, Bedford Park, Kingsbridge Heights, Fordham, and University Heights, was up 5.52 percent last year. Murders, though comparatively lower in number to past history, were up 250 percent, with eight murders last year compared to two in 2017.
