The NYPD is trying to figure out how a man in need of medical attention wound up floating face down in the Bronx River. The man was identified by family members as 43-year-old William Daughtrey of Williamsbridge, according to News 12. Daughtrey has been missing since February. His mother, Barbara Felder, said he struggled with mental illness, according to News 12. It’s been nearly a month since police got a report of a 17-year-old boy beaten with the very same bat two suspects wanted for the attack stole, and now they need the public’s help. Police say it happened at the Montefiore Medical Center visitor parking garage at 3325 Rochambeau Ave. by East 210th Street on March 12. The Norwood News had a good year at the statewide Better Newspaper Contest awards ceremony, picking up eight awards for its coverage of the Bronx last year. Among the big awards was the Thomas G. Norwood’s representatives on the city and state level want you to bring your gripes to a town hall forum they’ve organized for tomorrow. The legislators–Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, state Sen. Jamaal Bailey, Assemblywoman Nathalia, and Councilman Andrew Cohen–will be on hand for the forum starting at 7 p.m. at Montefiore Medical Center’s Cherkasky Auditorium. Man Attacked, Thrown Green Paint, at Fordham Station

Police have identified a person of interest in the beating and throwing paint at a 67-year-old man inside the Fordham Road #4 subway station on March 27. Police at the 52nd Precinct say it happened at around 6 p.m. where the victim, walking downstairs towards the platform was attacked. Police are looking for a man who tried robbing a bank but was denied by a brazen bank teller. Police say it happened at the HSBC Bank at 1 E. Fordham Rd. in busy Fordham on March 27.
