Two Arrested in Hostage Situation in Bedford Park. That Includes the Hostage

Police have charged both a man and woman, believed to be the man’s hostage, involved in a dramatic standoff with police that only ended after heavily armed officers stormed an apartment. Arrest Made in Stabbing Outside DeWitt Clinton Campus

Police have arrested one person involved in the stabbing of a 16-year-old student from Bronx Collaborative High School outside the DeWitt Clinton Campus. Deputy Inspector Thomas Alps, commanding officer of the 52nd Precinct, broke the news to attendees at the latest precinct council meeting on Nov. 21. City Takes Steps to Improve Safety at Shelter. But Where’s the Data?

Peace officers trained by the NYPD have been assigned at the Jerome Avenue Men’s Shelter (JAMS), but it’s unclear whether it has made a difference since city data provided shows an overall decline of crime around shelters in the Bronx. Two Stabbed Outside DeWitt Clinton Campus

EMS officials confirmed that two teens were stabbed just before 3 p.m. outside DeWitt Clinton Campus. EMS provided few details except that two were stabbed and were rushed to the hospital. The injuries appear to be life threatening, according to an FDNY spokesman. The campus was immediately was locked down, according to one student. Though EMS said two teens were stabbed, the New York City Department of Education referenced only one student in its statement on the incident.
