Body Cam Videos Reveal Moment That Lead to Fatal 52nd Precinct Shooting in October

Three months after a sergeant from the 52nd Precinct fatally shot a Yonkers man following a traffic stop, the NYPD released body cam footage of the incident leading to the moments that went from jovial to chaotic in a matter of seconds. The videos, released on Jan. 24 and posted onto YouTube, shows three angles recorded by the body cameras worn by the sergeant, identified as Sgt. Police: Suspect Shoots Victim in the Back in Bedford Park For Refusing to be Robbed

The NYPD needs help tracking a suspect they say shot a 25-year-old man in the back after the victim refused to be a robbed. The incident happened on Jan. 18 at the corner of Grand Concourse and East 202nd Street just before 10 p.m. in Bedford Park, according to police. The victim was in that area when he was approached by a man demanding what police calls “his property.” When the victim refused and walked off, the suspected perpetrator shot him, according to police. At Dawn of New Year, Jerome Avenue Business Robbed

Officers from the 52nd Precinct had to multi-task as they responded to a call of a robbery and at the same time, a woman fainting at the Chase Bank next door on Jerome Avenue. Police were called to Galaxy, a jewelry and electronics store located at 3412 Jerome Ave., at 1:45 p.m on Jan. 5. It’s believed the two suspects, a man and woman, fled the store with a ring. Crime File: Person of Interest in Death of Edgar Perez

The killing of Edgar Perez in August has finally produced a person of interest. Police at the 52nd Precinct are now tracking the whereabouts of 20-year-old Alexis Flores (pictured left), wanted in the shooting death of Perez during the overnight hours of Aug. 25. Perez had been shot while outside a baptism party for his granddaughter being held at the Church of the Holy Nativity on Bainbridge Avenue between Rochambeau Avenue and East 204th Street.
