UPDATE Bronx DA:  “No Criminal Charges” in Fatal Shooting of Kawaski Trawick by Police, Training Needed

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Aug. 12 that a year-long investigation into the fatal shooting of Kawaski Trawick inside his non-profit housing apartment by a member of the NYPD on April 14, 2019 resulted in no criminal charges being brought.   “Although we do not find that the facts warrant a criminal prosecution, this event does demand a thoughtful review of police procedures and training techniques,” Clark said. “Additionally, as a community, we must do a better job of providing appropriate support for the residents and staff of supportive housing services in the City.”   Clark continued,

Two Men Sought in Bedford Park Shooting

Police are looking for two men who they say shot a woman as she was walking with her boyfriend in Bedford Park. According to the NYPD, the incident was reported at 3.09 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, at Bainbridge Avenue and East 199th Street.   The NYPD source said, “An 18-year-old female was walking with her boyfriend when two unknown men exited a vehicle and discharged several rounds.” The unidentified victim was shot in the right arm and was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in a stable condition.   According to the police source, the suspects fled in the vehicle

Fordham Manor: Suspects Wanted in Connection with Pharmacy Robbery

Fordham Manor: 70-Year-Old Man Robbed

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual shown in the attached video and photograph in connection with a robbery that occurred within the confines of the 52nd precinct.   It was reported to police that on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, at approximately 1.05 p.m., in front of 301 East Fordham Road, an individual snatched a chain from around the neck of a 70-year-old male victim and fled the scene on foot.
