Norwood: Shelter Resident Arrested following Assault as Homelessness Debate Continues

Police report a man was assaulted in the Norwood section of The Bronx on Sunday at the Jerome Avenue Men’s Shelter (JAMS), and another man has been arrested in connection with the incident.   An NYPD spokesperson told Norwood News the assault was reported at around 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 6, at 3600 Jerome Avenue, the address for JAMS. “A 45-year-old male victim claims that he received a laceration to the lip inside a cafeteria because he was punched,” the spokesperson said. “Then, he lost a tooth. Norwood: Man Sought for Assault of 36-Year-Old Woman Inside Apartment

Police are searching for an assailant who is wanted in connection with an assault of a woman which took place inside a Norwood residential building.   According to police officials, officers from the 52nd precinct were called to a four-story building at 371 East 204th Street at Webster Avenue, at 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27. Norwood: Students and Staff Evacuated following Bomb Alert at P.S. 20

  Students and teachers were evacuated from P.S. 20 in the Norwood section of the Bronx on Friday, March 4, due to a reported bomb threat. It was reported to police that Kimberly Diaz, 28, of 2504 Bronx Park East was last seen on Thursday, March 3, at approximately 2.17 a.m., leaving her home.   She is described as female, Hispanic, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, and has brown eyes and brown hair. UPDATE Woodlawn: Search for Man Who Punched Woman in Face

The NYPD is investigating an assault on a woman at Woodlawn subway station.   It was reported to police that on Monday, Feb. 28, at 7.12 a.m., the victim, a 46-year-old woman, was walking down the stairs to the Woodlawn subway station when a man in front of her turned around and punched her in the face.
