Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Tuesday, May 17, that a Bronx teen has been charged with the murder and attempted murder in the fatal, daylight shooting in Mott Haven last month of 16-year-old, Angellyh Yambo, as well as the injuring of two other high school students during the same incident. An NYPD police officer has been arrested following an accident which occurred in the 50th precinct which covers the neighborhoods of Kingsbridge, Marble Hill, Spuyten Duyvil, Riverdale and Fieldston, including Wave Hill, a historic mansion and garden overlooking the Hudson River, and Van Cortlandt Park, one of the largest parks in New York City. The NYPD announced on Monday, May 23, that a second person, an 18-year-old male, has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 11-year-old, Kyhara Tay, in the South Bronx. Police said a 27-year-old man has died in Mott Haven, following a gunshot wound to the head. On Saturday, May 14, at around 2 a.m., police said they responded to a call regarding a person who had been shot inside Joyce Kilmer Park, located at the corner of East 161st Street and the Grand Concourse. Upon arrival, officers observed a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head, unconscious and unresponsive. A 62-year-old woman has died following a traffic accident in Castle Hill. On Saturday, May 14, at approximately 11.02 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian who had been hit at Olmstead Avenue and Seward Avenue, in the 43rd precinct.
