No Parking Through Feb. 28 at this Jerome Avenue Stretch

A new no parking zone has been temporarily issued for Jerome Avenue between Woodlawn Cemetery and Shandler Road through Feb. 28 so crews can install a new 72″ Trunk Water Main. The work is part of a major renovation project to improve Norwood’s sewer system. Vehicles found in violation of signage posted in advance by the contractor will be towed to other locations nearby. Sidewalks access may a be temporarily restricted as well. Neighborhood chosen for ‘Six to Celebrate’ designation Bedford Park stepped closer towards legitimate neighborhood preservation after the Historic Districts Council (HDC), a nonprofit group specializing in maintaining neighborhoods’ familiar aesthetics and cultural heritage, placed it in its ‘Six to Celebrate’ designation. The Mosholu Library will host a housing and enrollment event and seminar on Thursday, Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event is a partnership between the city’s Department of Finance and Council Member Andrew Cohen. There will information on enrolling in the city’s Rent Freeze Program and tips on how to obtain property tax exemptions.
