On Friday, Jul. 10, 2020 at 11:59 p.m., Andy Rollins, 38, an off-duty New York Police Department sergeant was arrested and charged with assault in the West Bronx within the confines of the 46th precinct. The New York Post reported that the arrest occurred following an argument of “unknown origin” according to authorities and that an NYPD spokesperson said it was “a family fight”, with the victim suffering “bruises and scratches”.

As more drivers return to the streets and roadways of the Bronx after a nearly four-month lockdown that’s slowly coming to an end, four people were reported injured in three separate vehicle collisions on Wednesday, Jul. 8, 2020 along a three-block stretch in University Heights, with all three taking place within a five-hour period. The Fire Department of New York reported that on Jul. 8, 2020 at 5:04 p.m., emergency services were alerted to a fire on the tenth floor of a ten-story building, at 2332 Tiebout Avenue in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx. The incident was brought under control at 5:39 p.m. with a total of three civilian injuries, all of whom were treated at the scene, and there were no subsequent hospital transfers. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Norwood News is following up with the FDNY on the cause of the fire.

Riverdale: Police Search for Missing 71-Year-Old Man

Police are searching for a missing 71-year-old man since around 6:00 a.m. on Jul. 9, 2020. He is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, having salt-and-pepper hair, and was reportedly last seen wearing a beige shirt and beige shorts. The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals depicted in the attached photographs in connection to a commercial burglary which took place within the confines of the 52nd precinct.
