On Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020 at around 9.11 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian who was struck by a motor vehicle at the intersection of Grand Concourse and Mount Eden Avenue, in the Mt. Eden section of the Bronx, in the 44th precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 65-year-old man lying on the roadway, unresponsive. EMS responded and transported the aided man to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on Friday, Nov. 27. The NYC Civic Engagement Commission recently announced the launch of a new youth-led, civic engagement initiative called “It’s our Money!” in partnership with the CORO Youth Participatory Budget Fellowship program, which is an existing program run by the Coro New York Leadership Center. The center works with youth leaders and people in business and communities, schools and unions, government and nonprofits, in an effort to move the city forward. In observation of National Influenza Vaccination Week, NYC Health + Hospitals continues to urge New Yorkers to get a flu vaccine, available at more than 60 patient care sites across the five boroughs. The CDC recommends everyone aged six months and older get a vaccination to protect against the flu. The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the individual who appears in the attached surveillance video and photo, who is sought in connection with a gun point robbery in the 52nd precinct. On Friday, Nov 27, 2020, at around 3.40 a.m., a 63-year-old male Uber driver was in front of 364 East 197th Street in Bedford Park waiting for a passenger when an unidentified man approached the driver’s side window [of the vehicle] and simulated a firearm that was covered in a dark bag.
