Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernández, representing the 80th Assembly District and candidate for Bronx Borough President, announced on Monday, Dec. 21, that she has been endorsed by her colleague and fellow Bronxite, Assemblyman Michael Blake, who represents the 79th Assembly District. The two have a history of working together at the State Assembly. Montefiore Medical Center vaccinated its first Montefiore employee with the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, Dec. 15. Gina Benvenuto, RN, a 36-year-old patient care coordinator at the neuro-intensive care unit who has been with the hospital for 14 years, was the first employee to receive the vaccine. The vaccination process continued thereafter among other Montefiore employees. Pediatric providers at six Montefiore School Health Program clinics are using new rapid testing to determine if children in school have the flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) or COVID-19. RSV is a common, and very contagious, virus that infects the respiratory tract of most children before their second birthday. The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals seen in the attached video and photographs in connection with a robbery that occurred in the 52nd precinct in Norwood. The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Luis Liberato-Abreu, 24, of 1204 Shakespeare Avenue, Apt 6E in the Highbridge section of the Bronx, who was reported missing in the 42nd precinct. Liberato-Abreu was last seen at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, located at 1265 Franklin Avenue in the Morrisania section of the Bronx on Friday, Dec. 18, at 4.30 p.m. He is described as male, Hispanic and was last seen wearing an orange jacket.
