Bedford Park Residents Fed Up with Trash on Mosholu Parkway

On a cloudy Saturday morning, Cindy Barrera and her dog, Venom, stopped near the corner of East Mosholu Parkway North and 206th Street in Bedford Park and glared at the Heineken beer bottle caps, greasy granola bar wrappers, and spent coffee cups tangled up in a nearby patch of grass.   Barrera, a 30-year-old registered nurse, is fed up with the amount of trash dumped along the parkway. Armored Car Heist Attempted in Norwood as Bedford Park Crash Follows Robbery in Fordham Heights

Police are searching for at least one “male, wearing a ski mask” who attempted to ambush an armored vehicle in Norwood in broad daylight. Williamsbridge: Two Sought following Shooting at Party

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the individuals seen in the attached video who are sought for questioning in connection with an assault that occurred in Williamsbridge, located in the 47th precinct.   It was reported to police that on Sunday, Oct. 17, at approximately 00.57 a.m., during a party held at 1418 Oakley Street, an unidentified man got into a verbal dispute with another 58-year-old male victim. Edenwald: Search for Group in Connection with Daylight Shooting

  The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of the unidentified individuals seen in the attached video who are sought for questioning in connection with a reckless endangerment incident that occurred in Edenwald, located in the 47th precinct.      It was reported to police that on Monday, Oct. 11, at approximately 4.25 p.m. in front of 1155 East 229th Street, the individuals in question exchanged gunfire at each other. UPDATE Residents Unhappy with Tent “Encampment” on Mosholu Parkway  

Bedford Park residents have been getting more and more vocal about the unsightly, overflowing trash situation on Mosholu Parkway during their regular Bedford Mosholu Community Association (BMCA) meetings, as reported, but another issue which has also raised concern is the growing number of make-shift tents erected by homeless people along the parkway in recent weeks.   As one resident, who went by the Twitter username, @maminature30, tweeted on Monday, Oct. 18, “@EricDinowitzNYC, @norwoodnews, @NYCDHS, @NYPD52Pct How long before the encampment at Moshulu Parkway becomes a tent city? UPDATE Attorney General Letitia James Secures $256M to Combat Opioid Crisis in NYC

  New York State Attorney General Letitia James is delivering more than $256 million to New York City to stem the tide of opioid addiction and overdose. The announcement was made as part of a statewide campaign called, “Heal NY: Turning the Tide on the Opioid Crises.”   James made the announcement inside the auditorium of Lincoln Hospital, located at 234 E 149th St, in Mott Haven, on Oct. 4. On Friday morning, Oct. 22, students, faculty, and staff of Bronx Community College will collaborate in a community service event dedicated to cleaning up what they describe as one of the most beautiful campuses in The City University of New York college network.   Volunteers should gather under the Meister overhang at 8:30 a.m. to check-in and receive a team assignment to a designated area on and around the campus perimeter.
