Update: Bronx Man Charged with Stabbing his 6-Year-old Quadriplegic Son & Assaulting Teen Girl

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Tuesday, April 6, that a Bronx man has been charged with stabbing his 6-year-old quadriplegic son, with assaulting a 16-year-old girl, and with keeping them both hostage in his apartment.   The defendant, Tyree Scott, 29, of Rogers Place, in the vicinity of the Longwood section of The Bronx, was arraigned on charges of attempted murder in the second degree, first-degree assault, three counts of second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree assault and two-counts of endangering the welfare of a child before Bronx Supreme Court justice

Update: Children’s Services Social Worker Arrested in The Bronx for Possession of Fire Arm

On Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 5.59 a.m., an off-duty, New York City employee was arrested and charged in the 45th precinct, which covers Co-op City and City Island in The Bronx. Crystal Soto, 31, a New York City social worker in the Administration for Children’s Services was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a firearm.   Her name does not appear on the ACS website. Fordham Manor: Man Found on Sidewalk Shot in Back

The NYPD confirm that on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at 2.48 a.m. in front of 2661 Briggs Avenue in Fordham Manor, a man was found lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his back.   He was later removed to St Barnabas Hospital at an unknown time.   Norwood News reached out to FDNY/EMS for more information on the timing of the transportation of the victim to hospital. We were only informed that 2:51 a.m. was the time the call was received in their system.   There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: Belmont Area: Two Men Shot, One Dead

On Sunday, April 4, 2021 at approximately 9.05 p.m., police responded to a 911 call about two male victims who had been shot in front of 2105 Monterey Avenue close to Belmont, in the 48th precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest and a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head.   EMS responded to the location and transported both victims to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where the 37-year-old man was pronounced deceased, and the 31-year-old man remains in critical condition. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
