NYC Campaign Finance Board Approves $19.9 Million in Public Funds Payments 

The NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB) approved $19,903,652 in public matching funds payments to 162 candidates in the 2021 primary elections during a public meeting held on May 27. NYC will Pay Youth $1,200 to Take Online Courses This Summer, Application Deadline June 15

New York City will pay youth from designated city areas $1,200 to take online courses this summer, following the success of the NeON Summer initiative which was launched in 2020. Mayor Bill de Blasio recently announced the 2021 initiative will enroll 2,700 youth in six weeks of online instruction. Hate crimes across New York City rose by 366 percent during the week ending May 30, compared to the same period last year, according to NYPD data. In the Bronx, year-to-date hate crimes have risen by 200 percent, compared to 2020. Fordham Manor: Search for Man following Daylight Stabbing

A 56-year-old man was stabbed during a verbal dispute over money by another man in the vicinity of East Fordham and Elm Place in Fordham Manor, in the 52nd precinct. Police responded to the incident on Saturday, June 5, at around 1.13 p.m. The victim said the dispute escalated and the suspect stabbed the victim in the back. EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
