UPDATE Belmont: Missing 13-Year-Old Girl Located

The New York City Police Department has said a 13-year-old girl reported missing from Belmont has been located.

Prior to the confirmation, police had said that Tatianna Strother of Belmont, The Bronx had last been seen on Monday, April 24, at around 2.40 p.m., leaving her school located in the Crotona section of The Bronx.

Tatianna was described by police as female, Black, and prior to being located, had last been seen dressed in black and wearing a white headband. She was described by police as being in good good physical and mental condition.

The nonprofit Freedom Youth Family Justice Center which works with vulnerable youth in The Bronx and in Mount Vernon had informed Norwood News that they had reason to be concerned for Tatianna’s safety. Representatives for the center had said that Tatiana’s mother had been walking the streets looking for her daughter.

Representatives for the center advised us on Monday, May 8, that Tatianna had been located, and the news was subsequently confirmed by the NYPD.
