Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz Hosts Annual Holiday Food Drive Throughout District 81

Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81), who represents some or all of the northwest Bronx neighborhoods of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fieldston, Woodlawn, Riverdale, Kingsbridge, Spuyten Duyvil, and Van Cortlandt Village, and his team were busy over the recent lead-up to Thanksgiving organizing some food and turkey giveaways throughout the district.

The assemblyman’s team said Dinowitz joined the Stagg Group in distributing hundreds of turkeys to the Fort Independence Houses in Kingsbridge Heights, Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (KHCC) in Kingsbridge Heights, and the St. Frances of Rome Food Pantry in Wakefield.

They said the assemblyman also distributed free turkeys, donated by Bally’s Corporation, to families at Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) in Norwood.

His team said St. Frances of Rome Food Pantry and the Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (KHCC) collected food donations from Assemblyman Dinowitz’s office.

They said constituents of A.D. 81 also participated in the first half of the assemblyman’s Annual Holiday Food Drive with donations going towards various Thanksgiving celebrations.

They said the food drive continues until Dec. 12 to bring additional food donations to these organization for the upcoming winter holidays.

Constituents can bring items to Dinowitz’s constituency office or organize a building-wide collection where they live and organize a pick-up. More details can be found in the attached flier.

 

The assemblyman recently introduced a new law, as reported, to protect residents from civil unrest at polling places.
