Public and Community Meetings

•    The CB7 General Community Board Meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Scott Tower, 3400 Paul Ave., in the community room. For more information, call (718) 933-5650.
•    The Croton Facility Monitoring Committee will meet at 3660 Jerome Ave. on Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m.
•    CB7 Committee Meetings: The Executive Committee will meet on Wednesday, April 7 at 6:30 pm.
•    The Land Use and Zoning Committee will meet on Tuesday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. The Public Safety Committee will meet on Wednesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. The Senior Services Committee will meet on Wednesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m.  The Traffic and Transportation Committee will meet on Monday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. The Education, Libraries, and Cultural Affairs Committee will meet on Wednesday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. All committees meet at the Community Board office, 229A E. 204th St. For more information, call (718) 933-5650.

•    The Community/Citywide Education Council Candidate Forums are currently under way across New York City. The forums provide an opportunity for parents and PTA officers to meet CEC candidates. Welcome to the Norwood News, a bi-weekly community newspaper that primarily serves the northwest Bronx communities of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham and University Heights. Through our Breaking Bronx blog, we focus on news and information for those neighborhoods, but aim to cover as much Bronx-related news as possible. Founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, the Norwood News began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7. The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts. The Norwood News runs the Bronx Youth Journalism Heard, a journalism training program for Bronx high school students.
