A man has died following a fatal shooting in the Fordham Heights section of The Bronx, police said.

An NYPD spokesperson said that on Thursday, June 4, at around 2.35 a.m., officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an assault in front of 2151 Grand Concourse, a multi-story, residential building with several storefronts at street level.

“Upon arrival, officers observed an unidentified adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest and a gunshot wound to the groin,” the spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.”

Police said there are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is pending at this time. Norwood News visited the location later on Thursday and it was not immediately obvious where 2051 Grand Concourse was located as the street numbers listed for the stores at street level were not in order and none listed 2051.

However, according to NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) records, 2051-2055 Grand Concourse is the multi-story building seen in the attached photo above and below and is located on the same tax lot and block. Another address listed on the same tax lot and tax block is 169-185 East Burnside Avenue.
